Presenting a stimulus repeatedly at a regular timing, elicits neural responses of the same frequency in the brain, referring to frequency-tagged responses. These responses have high signal-to-noise ratio and can be recorded over relatively short stimulation period, making frequency-tagging pardigms a suitable candidate for research not only in neurotypical populations but also infants and patients. The purpose of the presentation is to describe the core stimulation paradigms that take advantage of this approach to address questions on perceptual and cognitive processings mainly in the domain of vision research in human adults and infants.
